      Committees

All Chapter Committee Chairs Chairs are appointed by the Chapter Chair, with approval of the Chapter Board. A Chapter Committee Chair may be a full Member, Associate Member, Affiliate or Regional Affiliate. Only full members and Associate members serving may vote on the Governing Board. Every Chapter must have a Chair for every permanent Committee. The permanent committees are affiliate, Membership, Program, Reception and Safety.

Affiliate Committee
Committee Chair: Frank Memolo
The Affiliate Committee, under the leadership of the Committee Chair, shall:

  1. Assist the Chapter Chair in integrating Affiliate resources into Chapter activities.
  2. Recommend qualified and interested Affiliates to the Chapter Chair.
  3. Communicate with the National Affiliate Committee Chair to bring to attention concerns of local Affiliates and receive information for effective Affiliate activity.
  4. Upon request, assist the National Affiliate Committee with special Affiliate activities.
  5. Assist in the development and continual refinement of a national program for participation and recognition of Affiliates.
  6. Serve on the Chapter Board of Governors and submit a report at each meeting on current activities and plans.
  7. Maintain files of committee activities to be passed to ensuing Committee Chair.

Membership Committee
Committee Chair: Nancy Murray
The Membership Committee, under the leadership of the Committee Chair, shall:

  1. Develop and maintain an accurate list of all Chapter Members and Affiliates.
  2. Check the Chapter's records against the official quarterly roster submitted by NAFA Headquarters.
  3. Make every effort to develop and increase membership in the Chapter.
  4. Work with the Chapter Reception Committee to assure a special welcome for new Members and Affiliates.
  5. Contact all Members and Affiliates cancelled each month to encourage them to renew or determine the reason for cancellation.
  6. Communicate and cooperate with the National Membership Committee Chair to encourage membership growth.
  7. Serve on the Chapter Board of Governors and report at each meeting on the Chapter's total number of Members and Affiliates and the Committee's current activities and plans.
  8. Maintain files of committee activities to be passed to ensuing Committee Chair.

Program Committee
Committee Chair: Doug Becker
The Program Committee, under the leadership of the Committee Chair, shall:

  1. Develop programs for every Chapter event, enlisting the aid of Members and Affiliates.
  2. Compile a list of potential speakers who can make contributions to Chapter meetings.
  3. Develop programs for a three-month period to ensure advance planning.
  4. Work with the Secretary to ensure complete, informative notices are sent to all on the mailing list well in advance of meetings.
  5. Communicate with the National Program Committee to learn about programs and service available to help ease the task of planning and coordinating chapter meetings.
  6. Maintain a file of "canned" program kits for easy implementation.
  7. Maintain information about NAFA’s Chapter Grant Program for possible use during term.
  8. Serve on the Chapter Board of Governors and report at each meeting on current activities and plans.
  9. Maintain files of committee activities to be passed to ensuing Committee Chair.

Reception Committee
Committee Chair:  
The Reception Committee, under the leadership of the Committee Chair, shall:

  1. Welcome all new Members and Affiliates assigned to the Chapter. This may include telephone calls upon joining, personal invitations to the next Chapter meeting, escorting them throughout their first meeting, and introducing them to other Members and Affiliates.
  2. Assist in staffing the registration area at all chapter meetings.
  3. Distribute meeting materials and collect meeting evaluation forms.
  4. Assist in presenting certificates and pins to new Members and Affiliates and CAFM program graduates.
  5. Serve on the Chapter Board of Governors and report at each meeting on the Committee's current activities and plans.
  6. Maintain files of committee activities to be passed to ensuing Committee Chair.

Safety Committee
Committee Chair: Phil Moser
The Safety Committee, under the leadership of the Committee Chair, shall:

  1. Recommend possible meeting topics to the Chapter Program Committee Chair.
  2. Communicate the importance of safe driving and vehicular safety to NAFA Members and Affiliates in the chapter.
  3. Encourage Members to complete and submit NAFA’s Accident Data & Loss Survey.
  4. Work cooperatively with other chapter leaders to disseminate information about state, local or regional safety programs.
  5. Exchange information with and make recommendations to NAFA's National Safety Committee Chair.
  6. Serve on the Chapter Board of Governors and report at each Board meeting on current activities and future plans.
  7. Maintain files of committee activities to be passed to ensuing Committee Chair.
